First Rookie Signs

January 10, 2006

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Warren Area High School Alumni Jay Dilks announced he is accepting Dave Nickles' national letter of intent to play golf at the 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship. Woodsy will sign as the first rookie and 7th player to represent the state of Virginia.

"We are excited that Nickles has finally decided on the right thing," Dilks said. "We believe he will be a great addition as we become a competitive national tournament."

Nickles resides in Virginia Beach and plays golf throughout the area. He displays his magical shots for all to see. Woodsy consistently shoots bogey plus golf, but magically slices around trees, draws his shots around hazards, and floats his shots over water hazards like a professional.

"Dave is one of the top golfers in the Virginia Beach area," says Jay Glover. "He follows in Spackler footsteps and should be considered a top rookie for 2006. He is a great student of the game as well as a great golfer. We have high expectations."

Nickles signs as the 26th player overall. The 2006 Carl Spackler Open begins play in 145 days. The tournament itinerary is packed full of activities.
