Options Due Saturday

April 6, 2006

CLAYTON, NC — The 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship begins in 62 days and the second phase of the tournament ends this week. The tournament options started on March 8 with nearly half the players communicating their desires by mid-March. The business office added 3 additional preferences in late-March. There are 3 players yet to complete their preferences.

"Most of the options will be removed from the option selector on April 9," says Kevin Long at the Captains Club news conference. "Balances are due in the mail to Dosky 3 weeks later." The participant balances page will display all payments, credits, and expenses when a golfer is signed into the website.

"Our staff has put together a strong package. A lot of work and now it is your turn. Finalize your options and get your money in. The most common excuse, "I have been busy". Those excuses sound really stupid when the same guys find 100 hours to attend our great event."

The tournament player options are scheduled to be available for 3 more days. The online option selector can be completed after sign-in, clicking on "June 8 Trip" and then clicking on "Option Selector" from the event menu. The options are indeed optional. All players are encouraged to fill them out, however the show will go on regardless.

Scott Zavinski, Brad Simon and Chace Farrell are the only remaining golfers to not fill out options. "Scott and I are playing golf today," says 2005 Carl Spackler Mike Herron. "I am going to find out if Scott can skip his 51st round of 2006 to fill out his trip options."

The 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship begins first round play on Thursday, June 8. There are 60 players in the field.
