Spackler Reloads with Tatum

May 9, 2006

SMITHFIELD, VA — The Carl Spackler business office has officially announced they have seen the last of the withdrawals and have begun to reload with David Ellis and now Jeff Tatum of Smithfield, VA. Tatum signed his National Letter of Intent to play in the 2006 Carl Spacker Open just last week. Tatum boost the field of players to represent the state of Virginia.

Jeff will not obtain the home field advantage for this year's major even with a 3 hour commute. His absence at the practice round has him scrambling for a yardage book and range tokens with 28 days left.

"All rookies including Tatum better be ready at this point or suffer the consequences," said Kevin Long, Jr. of nearby Virginia Beach. "I would be very nervous with the dreadful Carl Spackler Outfit lerking. I hope Trojanowski got them dry cleaned."

The CEO of the Captains Club, Jamie Myers noted, "Tatum looks like he is hiding from something behind those sunglasses. He will not be able to hide his iron play from the tournament that could make him or break him. I hope he is the kinda player that can elevate Spackler to the next level."

Buddy Brian Hiser had only one comment about the signing. "I see Jeff put down 5’0” for his height and 200 lbs in his profile," said Hiser. "You better order a special cart."

The final field will be published this coming week. Pairings will follow in another week along with rooming lists afterwards. The tournament is scheduled with 18-holes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The awards presentation is scheduled late Saturday night.

Tatum signs as the 61st player to the field. The tournament business office continues to look for replacements.
