SMITHFIELD, VA — The Carl Spackler Open Championship has fully reloaded itself for its June date of destiny. The Captains Club proudly announces today that he has replaced all 5 cancellations with 5 new recruits. The last recruit from southern Virginia provides the state of Virginia their best chance of its first Major Championship in 6 years.

The 14 golfers from Virginia smash the previous record of just 7 golfers. "We doubled the field here," said Captains Club member Kevin Long, Jr. "With the list of competitors presently attending, we have more than just a 25% chance of winning the coveted jacket. I do not even plan to drink this year."

Bryan Grasser signs with a few days before departure to Raleigh. "I would like to tell everyone that Grasser is signing as a golfer who has as much promise," referral Jeff Tatum said. "I would like to tell you his enthusiasm is very high, but everyone already knows his photo is still missing from the website. With four scorecards still due in less than 2 weeks, Bryan really has a lot of golf to play in the very near future."

Grasser establishes a field of 64 players. The tournament field falls 6 percent in 2006. Pennsylvania returns 17 golfers while Ohio and Virginia return 14 golfers. The tournament field consists of 12 different states.
