Fowble Cards 18 on Hole 6

May 22, 2006

ASHVILLE, OH — Tom Fowble had a date with Cook's Creek. He dominated off the tee missing only one fairway and shooting 105 strokes. A scorecard he nearly predicted on Saturday afternoon before arriving to the course.

The 33-over par included an 18 on Hole 6 where he shanked 7 balls into the water before scaulding one far enough to make the short fairway.

"He almost circled it with a 40-foot putt," said partner Kyle Marti. "It was really a shame."

The score is the highest score recorded online since Jeremy Myers shot 18 strokes on Hole 18 two days in a row in Williamsburg, VA.

Brian Long brought some positive light to the debacle on Hole 6. "There are certain things that only a few of us can experience," said Long. "One thing is for sure, Fowble shot a really good 105. So good, he was one swing from an 89. I hope that never comes out of my mouth again."

Controversy has always followed OlaFowble wherever he plays. Back in 2001, Fowble shot a 66-over par 138 without a penalty stroke.

"Things are better now," said Fowble on Hole 12. "It was a little break in the wrist. Too bad that disaster does not effect my Poststats Points for Clayton. I could have used some more points."

The hole-by-hole point system did not penalize Fowble for the 14-over par hole. It was a zero with a 5, 10, 15 or 18.

Fowble poured in an above average 36 points, 13 fairways, 4 three-putts and one forgotten nightmare.

Brian Long with birdie and was 7-over par through 13 holes. He finished quadruple bogey, bogey, triple bogey, triple bogey to finish with 90 strokes. However, he poured in 50 points before hacking on Sunday, which is still good enough to jump into 3rd position in the 2006 Virtual Tournament.
