CLAYTON, NC — Tom McCauley, loser of the 2002 tournament, decided to put on an unwanted show for the party bus riders on Thursday evening. A show worthy of the 2006 Horses Ass Award.

The winner of the Closest to the Pin Contest in both 2004 and 2005 had a few beers at the Neuse during Round 1 play. Maybe a little too much. He jumped aboard the bus and before long was groaping the bus pole.

"It was so funny, the foam from my beer was coming out my nose," said CEO of the tournament Jeremy Myers. "Another chapter in the Carl Spackler Open legacy for sure."

McCauley proceeded to wear a pair of Kevin Long, Jr.'s Depends ungarments. He danced from the golf course for 3-5 miles before retiring to his seat.

"Once again, it was pretty easy to distribute the Horses Ass Award," said Jay Dilks. "A true horses ass."

It took McCauley 5 years to capture the award. He joins Chuck Long, Mike Watkeys, John Dick and Chad Long in the long history. "This guy is no Chipendale," said Jon Marti. "There is no demand for that in a ladies club full of fat chicks."

Tom McCauley finished the tournament in a tie for 47th position. His rounds included 97-95-97 strokes for the tournament. It was good for 80 points.

The 2007 Carl Spackler Open begins in 328 days. Golfers from the party bus and attending the Raleigh tournament have two weeks to vote for best picture.
