Budgeting is Key

August 31, 2006

BUFFALO, NY — The 2007 Carl Spackler Open is scheduled to be played in less than 250 days. The tournament venue is scheduled for announcement on October 1 with invitations available on November 15. For now, it is time to start budgeting for the major championship.

"It's time to start thinking about the money", said the 2001 Carl Spackler. Troj also wants everyone to be reassured that $120 is due in the mail before December 28, 2006.

Trojanowski released the same quick statement as last year for the Captains Club, "It is important to save a few dollars in your Halloween budgets to avoid conflicts with Christmas demands. Our tournament will be a great opportunity, but will not be free."

All players will be required to register through the Spackler Business Office by the end of the year with a personal check or wire transfer using PayPal.

December 28 will be the absolute deadline for tournament registration. The deadline has been established as a means for our department to count the number of serious players interested in this year's major and for our office to make appropriate accommodations on January 4, 2007. Checks received after the deadline will be held and possibly accepted at a later date. The intended player may forfeit any right to attend the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship.

The total cost is presently estimated in the $329-$359 range. The actual fees completely depend on the venue, entertainment, provided food & drink and estimated field size.

The 7th major championship is scheduled to begin on June 7, 2007 at an undetermined location. The Captains Club continues to research and make key decisions surrounding the two proposed locations (Michigan or Kentucky) in hopes of finding the best location possible.
