TERRA ALTA, WV — Brian Flanagan is ready for his 11th major in 6 years. That 11th major in West Virginia is better known as the 10th anniversary of Golfapalooza. The field of 26 players are scheduled to tee up today at noon.

"We have been talking about Golfapalooza for 10 years and it feels like we started this decade of entertainment last month," he told in a conference call on Sunday. "As time progressed, and yesterday watching myself hitting balls on the range, it has just reinforced how excited I truely am."

Cornhole, beer pong table, 40 decks of cards, golf clubs and porn are packed and ready to return to Terra Alta, WV. Spackler members Greg Garrett, Jason Watson, Rick Dosky, George Sokos, Pat Boland and Greg Long are among the field of players.

"The superintendent has assured me the greens will be the best in 5 years," said founder Brian Flanagan. "A little firm, but much better. We are also awaiting the soft plush bunkers of West Virginia."

The new tournament date was moved up one week on the calendar. The change further avoids the aeration season and was originally thought to add a few degrees to the thermometer.

The weather forecasts will continue to bring 50 and 60 degree temperatures in 2006. The opening round on Thursday is supposed to be the coldest day at just 59 degrees upon tee off.

"My overall goal is to par the first hole and take home a substantial profit at the poker table," said Flanagan. "Everything else is just cream cheese."

The unique tournament course returns for its 8th year. The par 72 Alpine Lake Resort provides the majority of its character through its six-par-3 and six-par-5 Brian Farse design.

Live practice round scoring is already available at golfapalooza.com with tournament scoring beginning this evening. Today's opening round is also scored in a 4-man Best Ball format.
