200th Round in Jeopardy

September 14, 2006

GLEN ALLEN, VA — Scott Zavinski stormed into the Carl Spackler Open with his repetitive rounds of golf and first position in the 2006 Virtual Tournament for nearly 9 straight months. He continued to surprise everyone after posting 151 rounds since January.

There seemed to be only one important question remaining. "Can he post 200 cards in 1 year?" says neighbor Joe Butkus. "He was really on the right track until last week. I heard Vegas officially took the over/under off the boards yesterday."

Butkus is referring to a new employment opportunity that has and will substantially reduce the chances of 175 rounds by year end.

"I started my new job with Circuit City Corporation last week as the Human Resources Manager over 500 employees in the computer department," said Zavinski from his new office. "I can assure you my rounds will decrease for now, but hopefully I can regain the Virtual Tournament lead."

Scott Zavinski has poured in nearly 300 scorecards since his initial registration in September 2004.

Scott Zavinski has led the Virtual Tournament for all but two weeks this year. Chad Long took away first position for a week after a monster round in late-June at the Grande Golf Club. Zavinski stormed back into first position with 49.6 points per round until Jason Watson nabbed the spot last week.

Jason Watson has quietly moved his way into striking position all year long. He was on Zavinski's heals just last week before stealing the top spot.

Watson departs from Texas to West Virginia early next week to participate in the 10th Golfapalooza. Watson holds first position with Scott Zavinski in second position.

"I really liked the time off to play golf," said Zavinski. "I surely hope those withdraw pains do not arrive this week. The temperatures have been falling into great golf temperatures."

The 2006 Virtual Tournament completes in just 104 days.
