Hurricane Moves Northwest

February 11, 2007

DULUTH, GA — Pat Boland, a senior member from Georgia, announced last Thursday his intentions to move back home to St. Louis in the coming months. The move will hamper his efforts for an early spring golf session, but reconstruct his focus on glory.

"I feel like I have been traded," said Boland of his move. "Now I know what Ken Griffey, Jr. felt like when he returned home."

The move stuns the field of players as they failed to see dedication to improve his game over the past several years.

"I am going back to my roots," said Boland of his move. "When the golf game is hampered, you need to look for your roots. For some, this might be the fundamentals of the golf swing. For me, the fundamentals coming in Step 2 after relocating."

Boland opens the 2007 Virtual Tournament with a 12.7 stroke handicap. The Hurricane swirled at Twin Bridges Golf Club last August when he broke 100 and 90 strokes in back-to-back efforts.

"I am very excited about the 2007 season," says Boland. "I think St. Louis will be good for my golf game. I am very excited to start my golf makeover."

Boland is the winner of the 2005 Skills Challenge at Mountain Valley. The stellar short-game is Pat's shining moment in Spackler lore.

The 2007 Virtual Tournament is underway with Joe Butkus at the top of the leaderboard with 62.8 points per round. With the new target of 60 points, Butkus needs to improve this spring or likely lose the top spot quickly.
