WARREN, PA — The Carl Spackler Open golf program announced today that one prospective fisherman has enrolling into the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship. The signed letter of intent from Jim English was received by Rick Dosky during the New Years Holiday and ensures his 3rd straight event.

English, a.k.a Skip, is the winner of the 2004 Virtual Tournament with an unbelievable follow up in the 2005 Virtual Tournament. English placed 16th position.

"Jim continues to shine on his home courses," says Tom McCauley, Vice President of Cuisine. "He got pimp-slapped at Mountain Valley where the tight fairways demanded control. Skip has always been someone that met challenges and his scores certaintly showed after Round 1 in Pottsville."

English finished in 46th position in 2005. He returned in 2006 to finish with less respect. He finished his second major in 50th position.

"Not good," said McCauley. "The very-open Grande is a giant step for Skip this year. It gives him more Cable Hollow feel."

Skip hops into the field of players and represents the state of Pennsylvania and city of Warren.

English sent a note to the Captains Club. It was directed at the practice round, where he reportedly dropped considerable strokes during Round 1 play. "The practice round saved a dozen strokes last year," said Skip. "Maybe two dozen. I highly recommend the practice round to rookies and everyone else."

Tom McCauley finished the English signing with a few comments. "Skip is a composed player who has a nice short game, putts the ball well and makes good ball contact," said McCauley. "He is a fisherman whose best golf is still ahead of him. The cast of a rod is what allows him to work the ball from right to left so dramatically."

Skip hops into the field as the 47th player. The 7th edition of the Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled for June 7. All remaining balances must be postmarked prior to April 27.
