Hints for Option Selecting

March 7, 2007

JACKSON, MI — The Captains Club will publicly release the Options for selection tommorrow to the field of 60 players. The Chairman of the Captains Club, Greg Long, took a moment to provide some additional hints for optimal selections.

"We have a couple of items to consider when filling out your options this year. They revolve around licensing, playing partners, and transportation schedules," said Long.

The Option Selector consists of 18 options and expected to take each golfer 10-20 minutes to complete.

"First, Poststats.com activated licenses for 2006 participants back in mid-January 2006. Presently, there are 15 members with an inactive membership. These members will be confronted with a license activation page at first sign-in. The free license must be activated to use the Option Selector."

"Second, the option selector has been setup to retrieve individual profile information as part of the playing partner preferences section. Specifically, why our members play golf, where the system provides a "match-making" type list to provide members with optimal partners."

"Approximately 50 percent of our members have completed this information to date, which does skew the systems ability to find the best partners for each golfer. The Option Selector will automatically update profiles as the delinquents complete their options. Golfers with an already completed profile can return in April to provide the most accurate preferences."

"Third, the Option Selector will be collecting information on transportation to/from Michigan. Golfers are expected to complete the information as best they can to establish the best opportunities for decreasing travel costs. Airport arrival and departure times are also very important to remove unnecessary ground transportation costs and open seats in vehicles will establish carpooling."

"With the exception of roommate and partner preferences, all selections including transportation are available for public display under participant options. Options with fees will be added individually to your balance and displayed in detail within your participant balances. These selections can be monitored through the tournament."

The Captains Club is expected to close all financial related selections on April 9. All selections will be organized and orders will be made for apparel, food and golf.

The 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship will open their Option Selector for at least 31 days. The totally optional step-by-step process is expected to organize and provide information necessary for the tournament success.
