WARREN, PA — The Spackler Business Office announced today that it has received a letter of intent from returning member Randon Mineweaser, as well as an out-and-out challenge to the rest of the talented Carl Spackler Open Championship field.

Mineweaser, a 6-2, 230 lb. relatively unknown player from Warren, PA who carries an impressive +20.9 handicap, claims in his letter of intent that he will pressure the field with his distance off the tee.

Randon, known to close friends as Weaser, was quoted, "I thoroughly scouted the field before deciding to enter this year's tournament. I know that I can out drive these guys by at least 20 or 30 yards with very generous greens. The biggest problem that I've seen, though, is that my putting must improve. The greens at the Grande can eat my lunch if things are not put back on the track."

Kevin Long, Jr., one of the original founding members of the Captains Club, simply chuckled and just shook his head upon hearing Weaser's comments. "He talks like an uninformed rookie. They all talk smack until they realize just how big this tournament really is. We'll see what happens in Michigan."

Whispers around the tour, however, imply Mineweaser has the game to back up his bold statements. "Yeah, I have heard of him." says Matt Davis, Vice President of Contests and Bag Storage. "He is a legend up north in Warren, PA. The rumors surrounding his game always include with his inability to find the green when inside 125 yards. I'll be curious to see if his mechanics hold up in a major like this, though."

Randon Mineweaser signs as the 48th player to the field. He brings a resume that includes the 2004 Rookie of the Year.

Weaser finished in a tie for 28th position during his rookie debut at Tanglewood Park. The poor result was pretty impressive after opening with a horrible 13 points in the opening round.

The Carl Spackler Open begins in 72 days. Players continue to sign in bulk from Pennsylvania and Ohio. Options are still available for selection until April 8.
