KALAMAZOO, MI — David Bol and Uncle Bob Jastrzebski have signed national letters of intent to play golf at the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship. Both Bob and Bol joined the tournament in April as a pair of Michigan rookies.

Bol has a sketchy and unknown past as he enters his first major. As part of the Rick Dosky family tree, he joins Spackler without a finance degree. His 6-foot 6-inch frame comes from the Sudanese-born basketball player Manute Bol side of the family.

A reporter stood up and joked, "You look pretty tall. A towering structure like yourself has a heck of swing radius. I sure hope your ball flight goes straight."

Jastrzebski registers from just 18 minutes northwest of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in nearby Canton, MI. He secretly entered his first major with an unvalidated 46 stroke handicap.

Uncle Bob, who owns and operates his own CAD/CAM company, caters to the auto industry in nearby Detroit. He was born and raised in Cleveland before moving to Michigan 15 years ago.

He proudly flies an Ohio State University flag on his property to offend his Michigan University neighbors. He usually plays golf for business, but rarely indulges himself in 18 holes. He has recently moved into his latest hobby of bee keeping.

Bob and Bol have submitted scorecards. Bol fired an impressive 67 points on Monday. Bob Jastrzebski opened with 63 points a couple of weeks ago. Rookies are required to submit three scorecards by May 15 and four scorecards by June 1.

The 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship begins in 35 days. Dave and Bob sign as the 60th and 61st players. They also sign as the 3rd and 4th players to represent the state of Michigan.
