Tournament Notebook

June 4, 2007

BROOKLYN, MI — The tournament notebook was released months ago within website. The notebook has lots of general information regarding the 2007 major championship, which starts in a few days. Mike Trojanowski, winner of the 2002 Carl Spackler Open, took a moment to explain the advantages to being informed.

"Our website is all about providing information and eliminating repeatable questions," said Trojanowski during a press conference. "The notebook, itinerary, and roommates are available online."

The notebook is available off the homepage. Click "NOTES" in the lower menu and select a topic in the drop down.

"The notebook is always being updated," says Trojanowski. "This has always been the general place to obtain information about your vacation. I find lots of useful information in it. I am never officially packed until I cross off everything on the "Do Not Forget" list inside the notebook."

Notebook entries have dates of last update to ensure everyone is getting the most updated information.

The notebook provides expectations for the week in Brooklyn. Specific tournament information, taxi service, food, lodging and contests are just some of the chapters available in the notebook.

"The notebook is also printable for the busy," added Trojanowski. "The really busy participants should print a copy and read it on the airplane or in the car. I do recommend reading everything before leaving town, but that is not always an option. Print a copy of the itinerary while your at it."

The general purpose of the Tournament Notebook is allow everyone to enjoy the week including the tournament organizers. With expectations and lots of information provided online, the tournament field should always know what to expect and eliminate repeatable questions.

"The most unnecessary statement continues to be one of the most common," says Trojanowski. "Nobody told me that."

Daily Pairing Sheets for Wednesday will be available at the Super 8 Motel on Tuesday Night and Grande Golf Club on Wednesday. All golfers should acquire a copy to remain informed.

The Jackson area received 2.15 inches of rain over the weekend scaring away many avid local golfers. The lack of play plus ample watering is expected to improve the course conditions for the 7th major championship.

The 2007 Carl Spackler Open starts on Wednesday with the practice round. A mandatory player meeting is scheduled for 7:45AM within the Super 8 Motel Activity Room.
