The Sky is Falling

September 6, 2007

WESTERVILLE, OH — The winner of the 2005 Carl Spackler Open Championship and Chief Financial Officer, Rick Dosky, has entered the 2007 Virtual Tournament in noticable fashion - maybe the worst entrance in the history of the Carl Spackler Open.

"The sky is falling fast," said a shocked Dosky after his round at Minerva Lake Golf Club on Sunday.

The round is arguably the worst round ever recorded by a member of the Carl Spackler Open. He shot 56-over par 125 and scored just 23 points from 5,157 yards including 35-over par on the back nine. Dosky did manage to score 30 points before the Poststats.com course bonus system seized 7 points for course difficulty. The USGA Stroke Handicapping System also added 8 strokes for course difficulty resulting in a 64-over 133.

"I played the 6th hole almost perfect," said Dosky as he ignored questions from reporters and concentrated on positives to his day. "I also considered the 12th hole to be pretty strong golf."

Unfortunately reporters and fans around the world noticed the back nine, which included four quadruple bogeys, three triple bogeys and a sextuple bogey at the last.

"The 18th hole is 100 yards downhill," said one reporter. "There is a little bit of water to the left, but what in the world happened in Westerville on Sunday?"

Rick Dosky played four times in August with rounds at Riviera Country Club, Royal American Golf Club, and Links at Echo Springs. He also played at Creekwood Golf Club back in April 2007 worth negative 10 points for difficulty. Riviera was the only round of the season resulting in more than 36 points, which has to be some type of record.

"Back up the truck and load up the points," says Brian Long of neighboring New Albany, OH. "This is almost unbelievable."

Dosky opened with 74 strokes at Royal American before settling down on the back nine with a 29-over 65 on the back nine. After opening with a sextuple bogey, he carded four quadruple bogeys and two quintuple bogeys before Hole 8.

He found "the zone" as he finished the front nine scoring back-to-back triple bogeys. But that was short lived as he carding another quintuple bogey at the 10th hole.

Rick Dosky continues to tune up for his second major of the season. Golfapalooza XI begins in just 2 weeks and he should be getting a lot of points. He has physically grabbed last position in the 2007 Virtual Tournament from George Seidel and made a clear statement very early. He is the "Least Improved Golfer" of the 2007 season and nobody is going to take that away from him.
