TERRA ALTA, WV — The Golfapalooza Founding Fathers have announced the official teams and playing groups for the GXI 4-man Best Ball event and 2-man Best Ball event.  And when they say official, they of course mean, totally subject to change without notice depending on who cancels at the last minute or decides to show up unannounced.  The teams and tee times can be found under the “teams and pairings” heading on the Golfapalooza website.  â€œThis could be the most exciting year Golfapalooza has ever experienced with respect to the team events,” boasted GStan.  â€œChanging the Best Ball format from raw to MELC, as well as allowing all Loozers to choose their playing partner preferences, despite the fact that only 9 of them took advantage, has really allowed a lot of flexibility in creating interesting teams this year.”

Slick, Mark, Todd and Patio will not be defending their 4-man title, due to a minor rules change this year allowing champions to defend, only if the complete team is present.  Sadly, for all of Loozer Nation, the Assman will not be in attendance at GXI.  Many Loozer are currently scrambling to find out where they will obtain their annual second-hand contact buzz.  That leaves the field wide open.  Slick is promising his group another round of Jungle Juice this year; experts predict they will finish first by a mile or last by twenty miles.

The 2-man field is also wildly unpredictable, with Randy Watson and Blackbush narrowly favored to successfully defend their title.  Butter is the only Loozer brave enough to go out on a limb and make a prediction that the teams who score more MELC points will finish much better than the teams who score less.  As always, we are ever-grateful for Butter and his nuggets of wisdom.
