Munksgard Back to Thunder Hill

September 22, 2003

ASHTABULA, OH — Jon Munksgard, the 2003 Carl Spackler Outfit award winner returned home Thursday with a round at Thunder Hill.  The foursome traveled west to play the 2003 tournament course to elude Hurricane Isabel.  The foursome included member Kevin Long, Sr. and two potential rookies for 2004.  Jimmy Campbell and Mike Lewis.

Jon Munksgard returned to the course for several reasons.  "It was a great honor to play a golf course that demanded 98 strokes from me on the back nine", said Jon.  "Little Buddy also needed his golf game to be humbled and it certainly was."

Jon Munksgard dominated the course with a 68, 71 respectively and several strokes less since getting bombed in Round 3.  Kevin Long improved his respect for the golf course by shooting an impressive 106.  "The Coors Light helped this time around", said Big Kev.  "I needed to show these guys around the golf course."

Mike Lewis shot the highest of the four scores with a 142 including a 75 on the back nine.  "If you take away the 53 strokes that I scored on 5 holes, I think that I played pretty well."

The group finished their trip by playing rounds at Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio and then returned to Warren County to play Jackson Valley Golf Club on Sunday.
