GREEN VALLEY, AZ — Thomas Henkel fired 53, 67, and 61 points to grab the top spot in the very early 2008 Virtual Tournament. Henkel, a.k.a. Tink, carded his three round minimum in very warm Arizona.

The Michigan resident has averaged 5 pars and 7 bogeys throughout the season.

"He looks pretty good so far," said future son-in-law Jason Ridgeway. "Pretty good for an old man."

Tink carded a 22-over 93 at San Ignacio Golf Club. The round included 5 pars, 5 bogeys, and a disasterous triple bogey at the last.

He carded a season best 14-over 84 back in February at Canoa Ranch Golf Club. The round included 9 bogeys, 5 pars, and a 10-point birdie at the 16th hole.

"Looks inspiring," says Jon Munksgard. "I sure hope he can bring home glory and make some noise throughout the season."

Henkel leads the season-long tournament with 60.3 points per round. He leads veteran Jason Watson by 2.8 points per round. The rookie Henkel has entered his first major championship in Peru, IN.
