Taking a Back Seat

PERU, IN — The 2008 Virtual Tournament is taking a major back seat this week to the 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship. Seventy-two of the ninety golfers registered are in Peru, IN competing for the Golden Jacket and the Carl Spackler Outfit.

The tournament scoring can be found on the website starting this afternoon.

"Little to zero scorecards this week," says Captains Club member Kevin Long, Jr. "The guys plan to return next week with plenty of Virtual Tournament fire. For now, it is a big party at our national championship."

The season-long tournament has 51 golfers on the Leaderboard with Don Creighton out in front of everyone. Jeremy Daw is in last place and hugging the bottom of the board.

Golfers return on Sunday with probably no high volume of scorecard entries until a week after the United States Open.

The Virtual Tournament is nearly half complete with a long hot summer just starting. The Captains Club is expecting 60 or more golfers on the Leaderboard by years end.
