Jason Shoots 69; Marries

July 3, 2008

GALLOWAY, OH — Jason Ridgeway polished up his single life last Friday with a 3-under 69 at Thornapple Country Club. He married just two days later at Jack Nicklaus' Muirfield Village to member Thomas Henkel's daughter.

Ridgeway opened with an even par 36 after bogeying the very easy 9th hole. "That hole pissed me off," said Ridgeway. "Talk about letting a couple strokes get away from you."

The back nine was more favorable as Jason carded four birdies and one bogey for a 3-under 33. "He is good, but he played from 6,800 yards," says Tim Davis of Santa Monica, CA. That boy needs to step back to 7,500 yards and be a real man."

Ridgeway was married last Sunday. He is spending this week in Jamaica with his new wife.

"Good for him," said Flanagan after hearing he was married. Let's see how marriage affects his golf game. A couple of kids will certainly send his game into a death spiral."

The 3-under 69 was three strokes worse than Ridgeway's career best. The June 2007 career-best round resulted in 82 points and 6 birdies.

Jason Ridgeway jumps into 43rd position after his highest point total of the year. The 70 points increases his 10 round average to 55.9 points per round.

In other news, Bill Bateson has grabbed the top position in the 2008 Virtual Tournament with 70.6 points. He has decided to hold off on golf for a while he enjoys a few weeks on top of the world.

The 2008 Virtual Tournament rolls into the 4th of July weekend starting tommorrow. The 4-day posting period has traditionally been the second highest scorecard volume of the year.
