CORDOVA, TN — The 2-time member of the Carl Spackler Open, Erik Shirreffs, has moved from the beautiful state of Hawaii to western Tennessee says a report of the Captains Club this week. The same report also confirmed Captains Club member Jason Watson will also move from his home in Houston to Dallas, TX.

The Seargent Major of the Marines has relocated to the suburbs of Memphis, TN. "It is much colder here in Memphis," says Shirreffs. "I am glad to be back to the mainland. Looking forward to swinging the 5-iron."

In most non-naval military or paramilitary organizations, a Sergeant is a non-commissioned officer (NCO) ranking above Privates and Corporals, and below Warrant Officers and Commissioned Officers. Seargent Major ranks only above rookie inside the Carl Spackler Open, however everyone sits down immediately with their mouths shut when Shirreffs starts to yell.

Deputy Dog averages a 38-over 110 with his 5-iron and putter. Nobody has dared to ask why he carries a golf bag. Erik tied for 55th position in the 2008 Virtual Tournament with Allan Hench with 55.8 points per round.

"It has been great to have Shirreffs around," says Mike Trojanowski. "A great enforcer with the rules of golf."

In addition to the Shirreffs move, Jason Watson, announced last week that he will be moving from southern Texas to Dallas this spring. The 9-year member of the Carl Spackler Open will continue to represent Texas and possibly host the 2010 Carl Spackler Open in Laguna Vista, TX.

"Another good job opportunity will move me to Dallas," he said from his condo in Houston, TX. "It will be colder in the winter, but Columbus and Dallas Cowboys will be four hours closer."

Watson is presently hacking up a storm with 50.3 points per round in the 2009 Virtual Tournament. Watson has plans to play South Padre Island Golf Club in mid-April.

The 2009 Virtual Tournament has begun with John Mello of Virginia Beach in the lead with 56.7 points per round. The season-long tournament is expected to pick up in 60 days in anticipation of weekly leagues and preparation for the 2009 Carl Spackler Open.
