Get'm Registered

WARREN, PA — Senior member Barry Cederquist took a moment to remind the present members of the existing opportunity to register potential rookies. More importantly, to get important scorecards posted online to establish a handicap. The registration process can be found on the Spackler homepage.

"What appears to be an 10-month notice is only 100-day notification for rookie tournament registration," said Cederquist. "We require anyone participating in a Carl Spackler Open to have a minimum of 4-posted scorecards online. We have a great tournament and would like to see great things happen. Great things happen with accurate handicaps."

The projected attendance for the next event is expected to be 68-76 before topping off with rookies. The bulk of rookie attendance is statistically based on distance to venue. The shorter the better, which continues to baffle most of the Captains Club.

"I have heard quite a bit of talk this summer," said Cederquist. "There is a lot of rookie rumors, but usually only half actually register with payment. Even half is great news."

Rookies can simply register online with Poststats.com and then request membership to the Carl Spackler Open. Rookies should submit a mug shot photograph and 4+ scorecards.

The Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled for June 9-12, 2011. There are three possible locations for this year's tournament including New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. The official location will be announced sometime prior to November 1, 2010.
