BELPRE, OH — Scott Miller has become just the fourth hacker in Spackler history to shoot two birdies in the same round. The low grade C player from West Virginia posted two rare birdies worth 20 points.

Miller put together his 18-over 90, triple-bogey-free round on Saturday. He birdied the 465-yard par 5 on the front nine and the 178-yard par 3 on the back nine. He capped the sizzling round by knocking in a double-bogey putt on the par-4 18th.

He raised his club to acknowledge the roar from the crowd and accepted high-fives on the way to the clubhouse.

“It is almost a mythical number for my game,” said Miller of the 80 point point round. "It's Miller Time!"

It is the first 80+ point and double-birdie round for Miller on the tour since October 2008. The round has really turned around a dismal season.

Miller started the round at Oxbow Golf & Country Club in 33rd position, but moved up into 25th by the end of the day.

"I am kinda disappointed about not being able to 'break 90'," says Miller. "I am very happy, but also see additional progress needed. I would also like to see more pars and learn to hang in there down the stretch."

The 2010 Virtual Tournament has a new leader with JT Thomas from Wheeling, WV. He leads the season-long tournament over Pat Boland, Mark Palmer, and John McAninch. There are a full 60 days of solid golf season remaining.
