Last Minute Maintenance

August 29, 2004

POWELL, OH — Golfapalooza concludes its tune up in 27 days when it travels to Terra Alta for their annual major championship. With the event, Bret Lyme has decided to complete his last minute maintenance for his trip up north. Bret played a round at Scioto Reserve last week shooting 36 points towards the On Tour Championship.  The 116 stroke-round was his 2nd highest on record.

"My game is sound," says Lyme.  "Most of the players have not played a course of this caliber in years.  They need to worry about their own game."  Lyme played one of the top courses in the Columbus area. "I must have a good mental week at Terra Alta. Things could get ugly if they choose to take Alpine Lake lightly."

Lyme placed 16th in last year's Golfapalooza with 118 points.

Leading the way for Golfapalooza is 2003 winner Don Sprague and Green Jacket receipent Mehul Patel. The Buck Fever winner, Pat Boland is also scheduled to return in June. Jason Watson, the 2002 MELC Champion has been unable to locate his golf clubs, but is planning to embark on the season's final major. "I have been looking all over the place," says Watson. "I really need to find them so I can get out and practice."

Most of the field has found time to play a round or two in July and August. The tournament will consist of a 54 hole tournament where 1st place will return home with the purse and championship trophy.
