Spackler Breaks 50

September 3, 2004

COLUMBUS, OH — This week, the On Tour Championship broke 50 active players for the first time in history.  Although 113 players have registered in the last four years, Don McFarland and Eugene Faceilli assured everyone the group is growing rapidly.  They both enter the On Tour Championship as the 49th and 50th player to the Leaderboard.

"We really enjoy the growth," says Tom McCauley.  "We have removed probably 20 inactive golfers in the four year history.  That means things are working out well."

The Tour Championship reached 50 players without help from key members.  Chad Long, Mike Trojanowski, Don Creighton, Pat McElroy, John Dick, Rick Dosky, and Mike Watkeys have not logged sufficient scorecards to compete.

The Top 50 players in the amateur world is currently being led by Jim English of Warren, PA.  Jim is a 2004 rookie and looking forward to the 2005 Carl Spackler Open.  Chris Lashley is the struggling in 2004 with 50th place and 24.4 points per round.
