Dilks Fires 89

October 25, 2004

POTTSVILLE, PA — Jay Dilks got an early practice round in at Mountain Valley last week while shooting 39 NOOG points.  Jay continues to hold onto the 11th spot in the On Tour Championship.

Although the weather was poor, he was still frustrated by his play last Thursday, particularly around the greens.  "I should have been 1-under after three (holes)," said Dilks, who didn't have a birdie in his round.  "Not one birdie went in today," he said. "I hit 5 greens. It was frustrating."

Jay Dilks played his 10th round of the season and nearly his worst.  "The biggest thing I am going to take away from this experience is that strength and length were not a factor at Mountain Valley," he said. "I already knew that, but now I have proof."

Mountain Valley was selected to host the 2005 Carl Spackler Open.  Dilks played his practice round in hopes of gaining a mental edge over the field of players.  "It was worth coming here and playing. I'm totally comfortable here," he said. "I'm just real excited about doing it again next year."
