WARREN, PA — The 1st Annual Jim "Z" Zavinski Memorial 6-6-6 golf tournament is being held this coming Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Jackson Valley Country Club (J.V.C.C.) in Warren, PA with a 1:30 PM start time.  This event was created as a fund raiser for the Jim Zavinski Scholarship Fund for which it is anticipated to provide $1,500 in scholarships on an annual basis.

"We are simply delighted with the results already," says Mike Davis.  "We are looking forward to many strong years of this great opportunity."

The Zavinski 666 tournament is a two player team handicapped tournament, with the format of the holes #1-6 - best ball of two, holes #7 - 12 - scramble, holes #13-18 as an alternating shot format.

The tournament has had a great response of family and friends of Jimmy "Z". Currently there is a full field of 144 golfers signed up to play with 52 men's teams and 20 women's teams.  The tournament also has the backing of 32 corporate and/or business sponsors including the "Carl Spackler Open" for whom is sponsoring Holes #8 and #12 for "Hole in One" contests with a potential hole in one winners receiving an entry into the 2006 Carl Spackler Open.

Participating in the field are current and/or past Carl Spackler Open players, Mike Davis, Matt Davis, Mike Lewis, Jon Munksgard, Randy Mineweaser, Steve Hoden, Andrew Breese and Scott Zavinski.

The tournament is anticipated to be a fun beer drinking day just the way our dear friend Jimmy "Z" would have wanted it.

As Memorial Day Weekend approaches, the largest golfing weekend of the year also approaches.  The last 3 day stretch in 2004 received 72 submitted scorecards towards the On Tour Championship.
