VP of Kitchen Pass Named

October 10, 2001

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Carl Spackler Open Championship, No. 1 Amateur Golf Tournament, on Tuesday said it had named Matt Davis (i.e. Pokey) as Vice President of Kitchen Pass Allocation, effective immediately.

Pokey will be added to already a very strong management structure.  In the past few months, Jamie Myers was named CEO of the tournament along with Rick Dosky being named CFO.

Pokey was previously a Captain?s Club member, which gave him partial control of the annual tournament board.  This recent promotion will add player kitchen pass issues to already a large plate of tournament responsibilities.

"I am excited about this opportunity.  It?s a shame that a position like this is needed, but I glad that I can help.  Carl Spackler shares my vision that every man should be able to compete for the beloved Golden Jacket and not kept on relationship lockdown."  Pokey?s first string of business will be to create a manual for escaping relationship lockdown.

Myers, CEO of the Open read a quick statement on Tuesday.  "Pokey shows a tremendous pedigree.  "He's been in the upper echelon of respect from men for years.  He's exactly what this tournament needs to fill the big shoes of Carl Spackler."  The Open also stands to benefit from Pokey's knowledge of the golf industry.  He added, "Clearly it's an appropriate hire."
