HILLIARD, OH — Greg Garrett, a van driver during the official weekend, has signed a national letter of intent to play at 2004 Carl Spackler Open this June.

"Greg made a huge impact in 2002 with our player transportation vehicle," Don McFarland said. "Who else could drive a van in "drive 1" for 250 miles across Interstate 64. Except this year, the same West Virginia mountains will be at stake and he could suffer again from van lag."  Garrett is mentally tough and should be able to make the 6 hour van ride through the forest of over the mountains into North Carolina.  The Ohio field entire attendance depends on it.

The Big G. added a note to his letter of intent. "I plan to make a large impact and hopefully be considered as the front runner for the Golden Jacket. Something tells me that I am getting a ton of points this year after playing with Munksgard last year.  I plan to stick around in Round 1 and then go in for the kill."

The 2004 Carl Spackler Open is scheduled for Round 1 play in 150 days.  Garrett is the 8th member to sign, 19th player to sign overall and 8th player to sign from the state of Ohio.  This type of dominance from one state demonstrates a strong move to keep the Golden Jacket in Ohio.
