STERLING, VA — The Carl Spackler Open announced today the signing of Glenn Hoffert to a national letter of intent. Hoffert will be eligible again to play the 2004 major.

Hoffert, a resident of Washington, recorded five local finishes in the past year and was voted the 2001 On Tour Champion. "Glenn is one of the best young players in the field of players and we are very excited to have him in our program," said Chairman Greg Long. "His attitude and work ethic will be a great addition to our group. It is our hope that Glenn can continue the great success of members who have become this far. Lastly, Glenn is an impact type player and I feel like he will be a good contributor to the Open."

The Carl Spackler Open will open play in 144 days in Winston-Salem, NC. The field of players continues to expand.  Glenn signs as the only player from Virginia.  He will have his hands full as he represents the state against a strong field of players.
