Pritchard to the Rescue

February 8, 2004

DUBLIN, OH — The man they call "Mini-Tang" has announced his attentions to join the field of 44 players in Winston-Salem for the 2004 Carl Spackler Open.  His announcement comes 120 days from Round 1 and Matt Pritchard is excited to be a rookie.

Pritchard enjoyed his time On Tour last year.  "The summer was a good", he said. "I seem to hit greens, the only difference is that I didn't hit them as close to the pin as I always wanted. I just played them a little bit safer.

"I felt the fairways were a little more difficult to hit last summer, tucked away, almost forcing you to play the irons. The golf courses always seem to show a little bit of teeth and the breeze was always a factor -- you might see a little bit of different scoring next year."

Mini-Tang signs as the final player to the field.  Pritchard is the 44th player and the 14th player to represent Ohio.  For 2004, Ohio falls for the first time behind Pennsylvania with representation.  Pennsylvania represents the field with 15 players.
