HILLIARD, OH — Greg Garrett, Player Transportation Vehicle Driver, has signed a national letter of intent to play at 2005 Carl Spackler Open this June.  Garrett was promoted to the Captains Club this past summer after attending three straight major championships and realizing his contributions to the tournament.  Garrett takes the newly created Vice President of Tournament Scoring position.

Garrett quietly stole the show at Tanglewood Park last summer when he won the 2004 Skills Challenge.  After making his 2-putt and answering a trivia question, he was the only player to chip a ball inside 6 feet.

"'Double G' made a huge impact in 2002 with our player transportation vehicle," Jason Watson said. "Who else could drive a van in "drive 1" for 250 miles across Interstate 64.  His computer skills and attention to detail was exactly what we needed with tournament scoring online and tournament growth near another record number."

Double G added a note to his letter of intent. "I plan to make a large impact and hopefully be considered as the front runner for the Golden Jacket. Something tells me that I am not going to fall apart in the final round like last year."

Garrett played in two majors this year.  His 13 rounds of golf were played at Alpine Lake Resort and Tanglewood Park.  Garrett placed started playing his worst golf in years before overhauling his swing and returning to the low 80's.

The 2005 Carl Spackler Open is scheduled for Round 1 play in 169 days. Garrett is the 12th player to sign, 4th Captains Club member, and 5th player to sign from the state of Ohio. This representation of early dominance from one state demonstrates a strong move to return the Golden Jacket in Ohio.
