Magical Nelson Signs

January 16, 2005

ERIE, PA — Warren Area High School Alumni Jamie Myers announced he is accepting Casey Nelson national letter of intent to play golf at the 2005 Carl Spackler Open.  Ed will sign as the 13th rookie and 12th player to represent the state of Pennsylvania.

"We are excited to his magic join our program," said Myers said. "We believe he will be a great addition as we become a competitive national tournament."

Casey Nelson resides in Erie, PA, but is a player with Jackson Valley roots.  He plays the course as his home course along with Cable Hollow near Russell, PA and displays his magical shots for all to see.  Ed consistently shoots bogey golf, but magically slices around trees, draws his shots around hazards, and floats his shots over water hazards like a professional.

"Ed is one of the top golfers in Pennsylvania," said Myers. "He follows in NOOG's footsteps and should be considered a top rookie for 2005.  He is a great student of the game as well as a great golfer.  We have high expectations."

Nelson signs as the 37th player overall.  The 2005 Carl Spackler Open begins play in 143 days.  The tournament itinerary is packed full of activities including a tour of America's Oldest Brewery.
