Sleepless in Indiana

May 4, 2005

SELLERSBURG, IN — Tom McCauley, who withdrew from the 2005 Carl Spackler Open, has been having lots of sleepless nights.  A lot of tossing and turning as he continues to struggle with the bad decision he made nearly two weeks ago.

"I cannot sleep," says McCauley.  "I am just so worried about whether I had given up a huge opportunity to win the coveted 2005 Golden Jacket."  McCauley has been playing absolutely terrible as he sits at the bottom of the On Tour Championship Leaderboard.  Everything he does these days continues to surprise the field of players.

"But last night was my last sleepless night in Indiana," said McCauley.  "I have decided that there are more important things than a job, money, and work.  There is a priceless opportunity to be where I belong.  So I head to Mountain Valley in quest to win the Golden Jacket."

Tom McCauley replaces Dean Spear after Spear withdrew last week.  Tom McCauley is a Captains Club member that finished dead last in 2002 and wore the dreadful Carl Spackler Outfit.

"I am very excited he is back," says Matt Davis.  "I myself cried for a week after hearing of his cancellation.  It is a true shame when someone cannot acquire 1 percent of their year for themselves."

The 2005 Carl Spackler Open regains momentum with 68 guys ready to tackle Mountain Valley.  The tournament begins in 35 days.
