Oglebay Resort

WHEELING, WV — Oglebay Resort is located just outside downtown Wheeling, WV and offers 45 holes of golf including 36 holes of Championship golf.  Wheeling also hosts Wheeling Downs and Casino including dog races every night and TJ's Sports Bar just a mile from the Best Western downtown that carries 42 double bed rooms.

The new modern links golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 2000.  The classic Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed course continues to dazzle.  Both courses are named after their designers.

The Jones course is ranked 4 stars by Golf Digest and home to the West Virginia LPGA Classic for 11 years.

The Palmer course is ranked 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest.  This layout uses existing terrain and strategically placed bunkers, attractive mounding, and generous greens.

A practice range at the Palmer and Jones courses features grass tees, matted tees, and a chipping green surrounded by two sand bunkers.

TJ's Sports Bar has slot machines, 5 pool tables, 4 large tv projected screens and dozens of televisions and arcade games.  The bar seats 30 guys comfortably.

"This would be a great choice if the price is right," says hometown hero Brian Flanagan said.  Flanagan was born and raised just up the street and now resides in Powell, OH.  "Everyone would enjoy Wheeling and the golf is very fun."

The Captains Club is scheduled to make a decision on venue prior to October 15.  The Legacy, Grande, and Old Silo are being considered with Oglebay. Budgeting will be finalized by Halloween.  Invites will be distributed on November 15.
