Cap Rises to 84 or 88

November 30, 2017

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Captains Club announced today that The Legends Resort has cleared the way for the 2018 Carl Spackler Open tournament field to rise. The previous cap of 80 golfers can rise to 84 or 88. The adjustment is good news for a few golfers on the waiting list.

"The Legends Resort has bought back tee times and two condos from a wholesaler," said Chairman of the Captains Club Greg Long. "We will increase the tournament field in a controlled manner to not exceed 88 golfers."

The event presently has three individuals on the waiting list. The roster will rise to 84 with 84 paid golfers and then build a waiting list to 88. The spots will be given on a first come first serve basis.

"Registration remains open," said CFO Rick Dosky. "We would appreciate personal checks and will use postmarked dates and shred checks from golfers that remain on the waiting list."

The 2018 Carl Spackler Open will be held on June 6-9 in Myrtle Beach, SC. There are 80 golfers set to participate in the 96-hour celebration of golf. A Tuesday night reservation will be offered next year, which is $44. A late-afternoon round on Tuesday could be offered across the street from the airport.
