Jim Rules Rob

June 16, 2006

CLAYTON, NC — Jimmy Beam grabbed Rob Fustich by the brain on Friday afternoon ensuring Rob had a deep nap on Friday evening. Despite the alcohol poisoning, Fustich rose to the occasion to shoot 6-under par during the 4-man scramble.

"A little more Jim," said Fustich reportedly a dozen times during his second round on Friday. Each double shot was followed, "Damn that was good. Especially when you chase it with a swig of coke."

Fustich reportedly did 12-16 shots of Jim Beam during the back nine of the scramble.

"Man was he hurting," said Jason Ridgeway. "I felt bad for him and wondered what the hell he drank to be that drunk in the afternoon. I heard the next morning he did shots of Beem the whole round and that explained it all. We kept watching him to make sure he didn't fall out of his seat on the bus."

George Seidel partnered with Fustich during the scramble and shared the rules with Jim Beam and Rob Fustich. "All I can tell you is... never bring your putter from the golf cart if you are inside 30 yards," said partner Seidel. "Fustich finds it very offensive that you think he cannot hole it or put it within 6 inches."

Fustich was tracked down after his nap for a comment or two about Jim and his partner policy. "That was enough Beam for 3 months," said a very hungover Fustich. "I would also like to clarify rules when playing on my team. Nearly 90% of all communication is non-verbal. What are partners saying when they bring their putter with them for chips around the green. Obviously that my game is not very good. Partners should have a little more respect for my game."

Shawn Long won the 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship last week. Jay Glover did the opposite wearing both outfits.
