Slick Wins Closest to Pin

June 27, 2003

ASHTABULA, OH — Slick, chairman of the Captains Club, won the 2003 closest to the pin contest by striking his ball inside of 2 foot 3 inches.  The closest to the pin contest gives everyone in the field two shots from 110 yards.  The contest was completed in order of leaderboard starting with Jon Munksgard in 32nd place.

John Dick placed 2nd after hitting his ball to 10 foot 9 inches and Big Kev took 3rd place by hitting a ball inside 15 foot 9 inches.  "The contest was over after Slick hit a beautiful shot", said John Dick.  "He is pretty good."

Pat McElroy stole the show even after Slick's shot when his shot flew the green and hit Mike Trojanowski.  The shot just missed Troj's family jewels.  Trojanowski won the last year's contest in Williamsburg.
