FAIRHOPE, AL — The surprise at Rock Creek is the stunning topography, with some of Baldwin County’s highest elevations overlooking freshwater wetlands and the Rock Creek basin. Located off the eastern shore of Mobile Bay, this 18-hole, Earl Stone design, has provided availability May 3-6 for the 2023 Carl Spackler Open.

"This is our best value in the state of Alabama," says Captains Club member Greg Long. "The conditions check out and layout is capitivating. The golf course took a week to respond, but has availability for Cinco De Mayo."

Located off the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay in Fairhope County, Rock Creek Golf Club offers one of the best Southern Alabama golf courses.

The Signature Hole-#2 is definitely unforgettable. This 434 par 4 drops 70 feet from the tee to the fairway with a second shot offering a forced carry over wetlands to a green featuring a 30 foot high bulkhead wall. Golfers find this majestic hole visually stimulating yet a true test where strategy and accuracy define the difference between bogy and birdie. The course with a 72.9/128 rating/slope from the tips offers four sets of tees winding down to 5,124 yards making Rock Creek a comfortable round for any level of players. The staff, under PGA Professional Chadick’s direction, is pleasant and helpful throughout the facility.

After golf, the scenic course serves as the perfect backdrop for a beer on the outdoor patio. "It’s a true test of golf where strategy and accuracy are important," added Long. "Hotels up the street and Gulf of Mexico an hour south."

The 2023 Carl Spackler Open has options for 2023. They include Florida in April, Rock Creek in May, North Carolina in June, Ohio in July, Virginia in June, and Michigan in June. An announcement regarding the 2023 date will occur prior to November.
