MECHANICSBURG, OH — Mark Wray, as much as anyone, knows how quickly fortunes can change in golf. This is the guy who went from Carl Spackler Outfit in Michigan to rolling up the Virtual Tournament Leaderboard into 20th position.

His most recent reversal happened last weekend with 66 points at Indian Springs Golf Club.

Wray had yet to crack the top 20 all season. Equally dire was his standing in the 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship, where he was unable to birdie a hole for two straight years.

"We are now talking about a chance to win the Virtual Tournament," he said. "It is amazing how it can turn around."

Wray made a birdie at the 6th hole on the Woods nine. The birdie was worth 7 points. He also carded 5 pars worth 15 points, which breathes some life into his season.

"It is a crazy game," Wray said.

In other news, Mike Hawley scored 69 points at Blueberry Golf Course. The round is good for 15th position in the 2008 Virtual Tournament. John Mello of Virginia Beach continues to hold the top position with 72.5 points per round.
