Allan Hench Wins Open

June 30, 2015

LEBANON, OH — On a gorgeous cloudless day just a couple miles north of Cincinnati, Allan Hench beat a pairing of star golfers including Shane Owens, Bobby Owens, and Jay Dilks at Shaker Run Golf Club. Allan opened his 9th major in spectacular fashion. He bogeyed the final hole, but it was enough to win his first major by 20 points.

"It has been awesome to win such a great tournament," says Hench. "It was not an easy week, which makes things even more rewarding. Manuevering the ball through the wet conditions required a lot of focus."

Hench played great starting in Round 1. He parred every hole on the front side except the 5th hole on the Meadows course.

Hench opened the final round in 3rd place, but finished 2-over 38 in thr opening nine including 4 long putts. The front side was enough to take the lead.

"He was running away with the tournament by afternoon," says Greg Long, Chairman of the Captains Club. "It is pretty amazing to score a tournament high number of points during the final round."

Hench won the 2015 Carl Spackler Open Championship, Golden Jacket, Golden Hat, and Championship Trophy. He also took home a credit to the 2016 Carl Spackler Open. He won the tournament by 20 points.

"It is great to your champion," said Hench. "It probably will not sink in for a couple of weeks."
