Troj Leads Tournament

April 30, 2002

WILLIAMSBURG, VA — Mike Trojanowski has come a long way over the past year.  Long enough to be the 2001 Spacker Outfit winner and the leader of the 2002 Carl Spackler Open.  Mike has 89 points and a commanding lead after nine holes into the third round.

"I really just concentrate on making double bogeys", said Troj.  "The golf course is really hard if your not down the middle, but I just play for a double bogey."  Greg Garrett is currently in 2nd place with 77 points and Don McFarland has slipped to 3rd place with 76 points.

There is a tie in Williamsburg for the Cervic and Spackler Outfits.  Mike Watkeys and Jeff Cowan will battle it out on Saturday morning to determine who will wear the Cervic Outfit.  Mike and Jeff have 48 points and Tom McCauley has 51 points.

The rest of Round 3 will be played on Saturday morning and Round 4 will be played starting around 11AM.  The first rain came on Friday afternoon for 30 minutes as temperatures topped out at 94 degrees.  Tommorrow's forecast is calling for a cold 82 degrees.
