WILLIAMSBURG, VA — Two days ago golf fans got a glimpse of the jacket ceremony at the Carl Spackler Open.  No doubt most of you will not remember it as the 2002 Spackler Outfit stole the show. There are few things as touching as listening to Tom McCauley thank everyone for a good tournament.  To top off his last place finish, Tom did not hide between Carl's oversized pants and knee deep fishing boots. What a difference seventeen places on the leaderboard makes. On Saturday evening, the field enjoyed the best ceremonies in golf, the loser donning the Carl Spackler Outfit.

There isn't a prettier setting in golf than a 20oz steak on Saturday night while watching the worst player in the field in play the last hole at Augusta National.  McCauley addressed his field with a speech heard around the world.  "This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff. Here, I've got pounds of this."

A loud laugh from the field commenced before Tom added, "He's on his final hole, he's about 455 yards away - he's gonna hit about a two-iron I think. Oh he got all of that one! The crowd is standing on its feet here, the normally reserved Augusta crowd - going wild - for this young Cinderella, he's come outta no where."

Tom McCauley scored a career low 12 points in Round 4 to steal the 2002 Carl Spackler Outfit away from Jamie Myers who finished with 78 points.  Tom scored 4 of his 71 points on the backnine of Round 4.  "I really got no breaks this week on the golf course.  I really deserve the Outfit."
