Skip Hops into 2006 Field

January 2, 2006

WARREN, PA — The Carl Spackler Open golf program announced today that one prospective fisherman has enrolling into the 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship. The signed letter of intent was received by Rick Dosky during the Christmas Holiday.

English, a.k.a Skip, is the winner of the 2004 Virtual Tournament while placing an unbelievable 16th in the 2005 Virtual Tournament.

"Jim continues to shine on his home courses," says Jamie Myers. "He did not get so lucky at Mountain Valley where the tight fairways demanded control. Skip has always been someone that met challenges and his scores certaintly showed after Round 1 in Pottsville."

Skip hops into the field of players and represents the state of Pennsylvania and city of Warren.

English sent a letter to the Captains Club for the rookies. "The practice round saved a dozen strokes last year," said Skip. "Maybe two dozen. I highly recommend the practice round."

English dropped a reported 15 strokes in Round 1 play.

Jamie Myers finished the English signing with a few comments. "Skip is a composed player who has a nice short game, putts the ball well and makes good ball contact," said Myers. "He is a fisherman whose best golf is still ahead of him. The cast of a rod is what allows him to work the ball from right to left so dramatically."

Skip bounces into the field as the 21st player. The 6th edition of the Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled for June 8. The signing deadline was last Wednesday.
