Moneymaker Returns

January 24, 2006

COLUMBUS, OH — After almost three weeks passed since signing day, some Spackler fans wondered if Chris Phillipsen a.k.a Moneymaker was considering another year of playing a round of golf at Buck Ridge in June. Phillipsen put an end to those fears by signing his letter of intent with 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship.

Phillipsen will help grow the Ohio group of players attending this year's Open Championship. He signs as the 12th player from Ohio.

Captains Club member Greg Garrett believes Moneymaker will significantly help the group in future recruiting. "Chris will have the chance to win his first jacket if he works hard," says Garrett from his office in Hilliard, Ohio. "He has an uphill battle, but the tournament is anyone's to win."

Phillipsen was a little more humble. "Some guys are there to win the jacket. Some are there to prove they are the best golfer. Not me. My goal is do both with a minor exception. I just want to find the upper half the leaderboard. That sounds like a fair approach as a 2nd year member."

Moneymaker is a server engineer in Columbus, OH and signs as the 33rd player. He plays golf in a weekly league and has some real power.

Moneymaker is expected to shoot in the mid to high 90's at The Neuse in June. Hopefully, he will be bringing more to the table to ensure a strong finish.
