Like a Rocket

PITTSBURGH, PA — Like a rocket, Matt Davis finally broke out of his slump by firing six rounds of golf in the 80's including a 59-point round at Southpointe Golf Club last Tuesday.

Davis, Vice President of Kitchen Pass Allocation, strung together a few solid rounds including an impressive eagle at the Tuesday event.

"I needed this to get my confidence back.  I don't know if it's going to put me in position to win, but it felt good," said Davis.  "The other guys are getting higher with their points this summer and I felt an adjustment was necessary."

Davis complained about his confidence after playing poorly this past April in the official Open Championship.  The two-time Blueberry two-man winner said he hoped to break his slump by returning to a golf course that rewards the long straight drive.

But Davis, one of the star attractions at each Carl Spackler Open, struggled this summer in the 90's, but has turned it on in August.  Hopefully a September carry over of his repeating swing will give him a chance to pass Chris Lashley for the On Tour Championship.

"I am not saying that I will win anything this year, however if Lashley sniffles, I will be there to wipe his nose and snatch the Summer Open.  How do you like that for pressure?"
