He's Back!

January 20, 2006

FREDERICKTOWN, OH — Mike Watkeys, coveted part-owner of the Carl Spackler Outfit has guaranteed he will be back. He has officially worked out the issues surrounding his late-December check and now a member of the 2006 field of players.

"We are very excited he is back," says Matt Davis. "I am sure Mike Herron is also happy."

Mike Watkeys won the 2004 Carl Spackler Outfit and is the proud owner of the 2002 Horses Ass for crashing a golf cart into a tree going full speed and flying through the windsheld. He also owned the Crapper Award after 2004 with his poor play year after year.

He has submitted two rounds of non-major championship golf in 5 years. His last round came one week before the 2003 championship at Thunder Hill. Mike is 1 of 9 players to participate in three tournaments to date. This will be his 4th major.

Reporters continue to gather around his farm house in Fredricktown to get a response from him.

"Glad to be back," says Watkeys. "It is a true shame that I missed Mountain Valley and a chance to give away my Spackler Outfit. Looking forward to June."

The 2006 Carl Spackler Open begins in just 138 days. A complete itinerary of the tournament is available online.
