Plane Ticket?
March 1, 2006
LAKE FOREST, IL — Bob Morris, the 2005 rookie from Chicago, IL, has reportedly purchased a ticket to Raleigh/Durham International Airport for June 7, 2006 says a close source to the Spackler Business Office.
The ticket was reportly purchased in late-January. The news comes with no deposit towards the Carl Spackler Open and has reporters scrambling to find out what is going on.
"This is a first," says Captains Club member Mike Davis, a.k.a. Gumby. "Maybe he is doing business that week in Raleigh and going to stop by. I will apply some law enforcement pressure of him and see what is going on."
The sudden announcement swung media attention on Bob Morris and now brother-in-law and Skills Challenge winner Pat Boland. Boland is a 2-year member from Atlanta, GA.
"I would think Boland and Morris come as a pair," says Gumby. "With only 1 open spot in the field, maybe this thing is contagious and the field is increasing considerably. It is all part of my investigation."
The 2006 Carl Spackler Open options can be selected starting next Wednesday. Players are urged to get organized and customize their tournament. All players have 24 days to select. The preferences and optional services will not be available after March 31.
