Preferences Delayed Again
February 28, 2006
CLAYTON, NC — The second phase of the Carl Spackler Open Championship is once again delayed. Trip options will be pushed back another week to March 8. The player options/preferences will be available for 23 days.
"We are still in negotiation with our vendors," says Jamie Myers. "The goal is to acquire the most for our dollar. With a field of 60 guys, every dollar is sixty dollars. Every sixty dollars is six cases of beer."
During the 3-week period, the business office will take selections for each golfer. These preferences include additional services, personal preferences, apparel and entertainment opportunities.
Services include individual rooms, reservations for Tuesday night and possibly bus transportation to/from golf course. Personal preferences include preferred golf partners and roommates. Apparel includes the optional purchase of Spackler apparel. Entertainment opportunities include the optional Friday 4-man scramble and Wednesday practice round.
Players will be required to fill out all preferences online if they wish to participate.
On Wednesday, April 1, the gathered preference data will be analyzed, organized, and specifically structured for June. Things to start considering for your preference selections. (1) Your budget, (2) Your arrival date and time, and (3) your alcohol consumption.
The 2006 Carl Spackler Open begins in 99 days at The Neuse Golf Club.
